Either you have a grand King and Queen bed or a simple cute single bed, knowing the right-sized pillows for your bed is important. There are different sizes based on the type of bed and the location on which the pillows are placed.

Standard Pillow Size

The most common sizes of pillows start from 20  inches in width to 26 inches in length. It is widely used alone and in combination with other pillows to make a trendy combination. 

Queen-Sized and King-sized pillows

For your king and Queen-sized beds, we have King and Queen-sized pillows. The sizes are 20” to 30” for Queen sized beds and 20” to 36”  pillows for King sized beds. How to size up a Pillow for general guidance?

Pillows are generally measured in inches and start from 20 inches in width and 26 inches in length for a standard size pillow. The length continues to increase along its dimension while the width remains the same. This rule does not apply to Euro Pillows. For Euro Pillow Size, the length and width remain the same I.e., 16″ ×16″, 18″ × 18″, and so on up to 26″ × 26″.

What is the size for a pillow best to be slept on?

The general pillow size 20″ × 26″ is mostly used and can be used in numbers, more than one. But you can try different sizes of pillows specifically made for queen and king-sized beds I.e., 20″ × 30″ to 20″ to 36″. These sizes add extra comfort plus if you like snuggling with your pillow like I do, getting a bigger size would be good. 

How much bigger should the pillowcase be than the pillow?

The cover should be at the very least 1 to 2 inches more significant as compared to the pillow itself. This way the cover would be able to fit on it properly and better. Don’t try to get too safe and get a bigger cover because it will create a loose messy pillow.

How many pillows would be optimal on a queen size bed?

Well, it actually depends on your choice. Some people like a whole lot of pillows being piled up to get a super comfy sleeping place. But optimally, there are two standard queen pillows in addition to two queen shams with a couple of accent pillows to add a dimension of trendy style.

What number of Pillows would be perfect for a king-sized bed?

You can go for three standard pillows or two king-sized pillows. Throw in some European shams as you see fit. When you have the right combination and number of pillows it would automatically look good and make you happy with the setting. Instead of following a standard procedure, you can add your own element.
