How I achieve a traditional accent with faux traditional plants

“Flowers… are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities in the world.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Flowers with their pretty colors are synonyms of celebrations, happiness, and good times. Traditional flowers are those that are used in traditional functions like weddings, birthday parties, family dinners, and dinner dates. I just love these traditional flowers and some varieties are super famous for their sophisticated pattern and beautiful colors. They include amaryllis, roses, calla lilies, gardenias, and hydrangeas, etc. These represent joy, prosperity, good fortune, and elegance.

Now, Accent is something that stands out from the rest of the surroundings and yet ties the whole place together. This is where it gets interesting, mixing the traditional elements of these flowers to create an accent decorative item. This traditional accent would create the best attraction that it is placed. It creates a beautiful accent element in your surroundings. I’ll share with you some important pointers on how to decorate your home with a traditional accent flair using traditional flowers.

Let’s get you an idea on how to create a traditional accent decorative item using traditional flowers.

I would suggest you can either use the same kind and color of faux flowers to focus on a specific color palette. Like for a white and grey modern setting you can place yellow or pink hydrangeas in a glass vase. It would add a fun element to an otherwise serious setting. Or you can mix up flowers to create a cute combination and place it there.

I would love to add bright red roses or other flowers of different colors to a room with light and muted shades of walls. It would add an element of freshness and life to your simple surroundings.

For me, Kitchen is the best place to be targeted for an accent look using traditional flowers. For example, you can pair light colors in a simple kitchen. This will help create a perfect pattern of brown, white, and a small splash of pretty colors.

You can also go for an all-simple look by pairing up white faux flowers. White accent flowers with white surroundings, some pops of black, would create a super clean, fresh, and one-of-a-kind look, especially in your bedroom.

I have presented the above options to get you started and give you an idea about accenting your home with traditional flowers. Let’s talk about some important advantages and further new and unique ideas.

Why I love traditional faux flowers

●       One of the main reasons is their ability to maintain their fresh, close to natural pretty colors without wilting or fading out. They are UV resistant, so sunlight’s radiation won’t disturb their colors and appearance.

●       Flowers no matter how pretty have seasonal hindrances. Some flowers are available in only winters like Snowdrops, winter Jasmine, Primrose, etc. And there are summer flowers like hydrangeas, Daylily, candytuft, and others. But according to Selena Gomez, “The heart wants what it wants!” So, with faux flowers, any traditional or other flowers can be obtained easily in any season.

●       No maintenance whatsoever. I just need to dust off the dirt from your flowers, and that’s it, they are good as new. If I see too much dirt on my faux flowers, you can simply take them out, keep them in warm water mixed with mild detergent. Leave them for some time, wash and dry them. I use the residual water to clean my bathroom. I dry the flowers in sunlight or under a fan.

●       Once bought, these faux flowers would last me for years. I can repurpose them in any way I like. For example, birthday parties, dinner dates, and even weddings. Traditional flowers make up the best and beautiful bouquets for brides and bridesmaids to hold.

●       Some people can be allergic to the pollen of flowers and so fresh flowers are not for them. Nonetheless, they can enjoy their pretty colors and decorate their homes using faux flowers. There is another problem associated with fresh flowers, their pollen attracts insects and bees, so I avoid all of this by using faux flowers.

●       You can also gift them to your loved ones. I would prefer buying a fixed traditional flower bouquet as a gift than a fresh one. First, they won’t be affected at all by the time I buy them and carry them with me to their destination. As long as they stay with the receiver, it would remind them of me and my gesture. The fresh flowers would wilt soon, and the person would have to take care of them. This can be an unwanted chore for that person.

Where do I like to place my traditional faux flowers?

Previous suggestions discussed above were just to give an idea of creating an accent piece using traditional flowers. Now, some more directed ideas to place your traditional faux flowers are as follows

●       I also love a splash of pretty colors in my living room. This is the place where important discussions and evening teas happen. So, make those discussions more colorful with these colorful faux flowers.

This is their magic; they can blend perfectly anywhere with their gorgeous colors. You just must know what colors you would like in a specific area and decor.

●       I love that these faux traditional flowers can be made further pretty by decorating them with ribbons, pearls, and beads. These ornaments would add to already lovely flowers and result in the most pleasant decorative accent piece there can ever be.
